WORDS & THOUGHTS

The law nailed to the cross

The Law was meant to be a guidance and prohibitions are not hinderance but love. Yet we humans always find a way to defile it, we do lawless deeds and when people do lawful deeds we judge them lawfuly as well. The law is like a tool now, to condemn other people so that you look great and powerful but also to shield to defend and protect others.

But Jesus had had enough of this, pharises telling people what to do but they do not do it themselves. The law has become a stumbling block because our heart is just not ready for them. Therfore Jesus’ ministry has been fulfilled with events where Jesus seemed to break the law but He wins everytime.

One of those events is when Jesus’ disciples pluck the grain from the field and eat and also to help others in the Sabbath. The Religios leaders immediately condemn Jesus for what He had let happen, but Jesus answered them:

Mark 2:23-24, 27-28 (NKJV) Now it happened that He went through the grainfields on the Sabbath; and as they went His disciples began to pluck the heads of grain. And the Pharisees said to Him, “Look, why do they do what is not lawful on the Sabbath?” And He said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. Therefore the Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath.”

The point is, the law is to keep us in good relationship with God, but why bother if we already have a really intimate relationship with God, He is the King of all King, not bound by rules or sabbaths, if He wants you to become a rock He can do it, if you lets you do things outside the law why not?

Do not bound the Lord of sabbath with the sabbath it self.

The law was nailed to the cross, we are no longer disciples of the great good law but we are the disciples of Jesus and we obey Jesus and nothing else, even if that other thing is the law
