WORDS & THOUGHTS

The Deeds of Darnkness

🌟 Remarks

We might’ve at some point in our lives thought that darkness and evil are the things that scares us, that disgusts us, the ones that made us uncomfortable. But we soon realised that we are the ones in darkness and that the places we scurry away from, is the places full of light. Therefore He died in our places alongside all our sins so that the veil covering our eye should be removed and that we should see the truth, the truth that sets us free.

We too soon appreciate the work done on the cross that has let us to be qualified to be sons of God. So to recap, we were unqualified, then we are justified, sanctified and now qualified. But some people take another unecessary step after that which is departing from the calling. We thought we’ve had it all, we think we are done and the job ia accomplished, we felt proud and happy. We became comfortable.

Just like thw Israelites being brought out of slavery in Egypt where the land ia defiled in sinful works. But when they became an independent nation, they too depart from truth and devised their own wicked works. Some of us did this, perhaps all of us. We thought Chriatianity is a line, it is more like a cycle. We nees to keep on running, for live and sin and hope and joy is like a spinning wheel and we are on top of it. Deciding to stop running means deciding to fall backwards.

🌟 Reference

Ecclesiastes 2:13 I realized that wisdom is preferable to folly, just as light is preferable to darkness:

Isaiah 45:7 I am the one who forms light and creates darkness; the one who brings about peace and creates calamity. I am the Lord, who accomplishes all these things.

Isaiah 58:10 You must actively help the hungry and feed the oppressed. Then your light will dispel the darkness, and your darkness will be transformed into noonday.

🌟 Relevancy

To put ot simply, i have taken the unecessary step. For a long time i have disdained many people’s way of running live especially in the sector of religion. I saw how corrupt they are and that they are unqualified for anything they think they deserve. And their success only convince me more of how pathetic and unserious they are in the ministry. I thought being a good Christian means extreme humility, i thought it was integrity and good discipline. Although those are not wrong, it does build a wrong standard in me of how a christian should be.

I grew up being raised with a bit of perfectionism and OCD in mind so i inherit a trait of these out of the world expectations. No one is perfect at least for now. So there is no disqualification for people trying to pursue good when failing once in a while. And further more i discovered that i too am not perfect, the areas of live that i thought i have mastered i failed horribly, that gave me some humility to work with.

To sum it up, christianity is about family and relationship. I disagree to call it a religion because then it will inherit many concpets of formality. It is about our relationship with Christ the Author of our lives, so do not proudly call yourself or anyone as Christians if you don’t have a relationship with Christ.
