WORDS & THOUGHTS

Saved By His Life

Hebrews 8:10-12 (NKJV) For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. None of them shall teach his neighbor, and none his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.”

But why? Why did He disregard the old covenant He had with the previous generation of the isralites? Because He has a better plan

Hebrews 8:4-6, 10 (NKJV) For if He were on earth, He would not be a priest, since there are priests who offer the gifts according to the law; who serve the copy and shadow of the heavenly things, as Moses was divinely instructed when he was about to make the tabernacle. For He said, “See that you make all things according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.” But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.

The previous generation lived according to the laws that God gave them but when He came to the world. People used the law against Him for they no longer regard GOD as the source of Laws but rather laws as the source of truth.

Is it wrong if you throw a ball to the presidents head? You will be surrounded immediately with guns and bodyguards holding your hands on your back while you lay painfully on the ground unable to get up for the president is someone important and of high status, not a standard friend to play with. But that’s not the case if the president is your own dad and you were playing table tennis with him.

See, the ancient israelites, the ones in the times of Moses. They really obeyed to the laws of the Lord, that is after a lot of chastening and discipline, but they held strong to it nontheless as their basis of living. But then when Jesus, the Son of God. the embodiment of Christ Himself came to the world to teach them new things they rejected it because they are so boxed in the law they forgot who made them. It’s like studying maths so hard, i would be impossible for you to study without the book while forgetting that you can just learn from the writer of the book.

And it is not only because the people didn’t believe that Jesus is Lord, He did lots of captivating miracles, but it is because of the harndness of their hearts that they cannot recieve what is new but held too strong with the old teachings

What we can learn is not to be to fixed on to facts and theories that great people had discovered, or live in such a way that your life is to predictable because then you will become dull with the boring pace of life when you can just go to the side of the road, go off road, find new paths and go where God lead you, not where the world lead you, and that way you can discover and make new paths no one had ever seen and make the world a little bit easier for the rest of
