WORDS & THOUGHTS

Double Denial

When doig anything, we need to take into account our ability and capability in doing it, whether we can or we can not accomplish something. When you want to be pilot, you need to check your eyesight, lung integrity, learn breathing for certain situations, know how many Gs you can withstand to make sure you will not crash a multi million dollar aircraft.

Luke 14:26-28 (NKJV) “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple. And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple. For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it-–

what Peter wanted to do is good and for God, but He din’t measure in andvance his capability and end up making Jesus upset because of his failure, It is not wrong to make promises of doing good, but making sure you can do what you say is more important than how important the job is.

When Jesus saw people wanting to be His disciple, He told them to leave their family and friends, then many people started to make excusses like they need to bury the dead, or check out their newly bought land

Luke 9:59-62 (NKJV) Then He said to another, “Follow Me.” But he said, “Lord, let me first go and bury my father.” Jesus said to him, “Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and preach the kingdom of God.” And another also said, “Lord, I will follow You, but let me first go and bid them farewell who are at my house.” But Jesus said to him, “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”

Therefore let us see if we can do what we want to do for God first before making people upset of we not accomplishing what we’ve said
